This month in sports, the Richmond High School for the Arts Bulldogs have a busy December with basketball, wrestling, and indoor track in action at home and on the road. Students, families, and community members are encouraged to come out and show their Bulldog pride all month long.
Basketball – Girls
Girls JV and Varsity basketball open the month with a road doubleheader at Cosby High School on December 2, with games at 6:00pm and 7:30pm. Additional girls contests include trips to Huguenot High School and James River High School, along with home dates at RHSA where both JV and Varsity take the court.
Basketball – Boys
Boys JV and Varsity host RHSA home games on December 3, 12, 17, and 19 at 6:00pm and 7:30pm, giving fans multiple chances to see the Bulldogs on their home floor. The boys also travel to Monacan and Midlothian for rescheduled and regular-season matchups, along with a special Varsity game at Virginia State University’s Multipurpose Center on December 6 at 7:00pm.
Wrestling
December features a strong wrestling slate, starting with home Girls Varsity and Varsity matches at RHSA on December 4 at 6:00pm. The Bulldogs then hit the road for tournaments and meets at Henrico, Varina, Mechanicsville, James W. Robinson, Woodside, and Mills E Godwin on various Saturdays and weekdays throughout the month, with start times typically at 9:30am or 10:00am and an afternoon event at 4:00pm.
Indoor Track
Indoor track opens its December schedule at St. Christopher’s School on December 6, with Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity competing in meets listed as TBD times. These early-season meets give Bulldog track athletes a chance to tune up and set strong marks heading into the winter campaign.
